TONIGHT: Los Ja-cuzzi Boys, turning MIAMI TIME into the Bruise Cruise.
Except no water slides, which is big dissapointment. If Le Bain can have a hot tub with a disco ball, why no water slide in the WVUM studio?
Anyway, you guys know I really love this band, so it should be fun. The rest of the Bruise Cruise on air happenings are listed here.

+ FREEDOM FOR THE FUNK with Tom Laroc tonight, hosted by DJ Manuvers. Catch one of Miami’s most celebrated DJs dropping funk from 9 - 11pm.

MIAMI TIME: Ducemania Hour continues with DJ Craze and Mayday, and then maybe some normal MIAMI TIME?
Tuesday nights are basically turning into a four hour stretch of DUCEMANIA MIAMI & Freedom for the Funk party time in the WVUM studios.

From Beached Miami:
“On Tuesday night, Robby and I were guests on WVUM’s “MIAMI TIME”, hosted by the lovely Giovanna. The plan was to play our list of the Top 15 South Florida Songs of 2010 and to convince the University of Miami student body that visiting Beached Miami three times a day was an evolutionary imperative. I’d like to say everything went smoothly in our radio debut, but of course it did not. So, what you’re in for with this week’s podcast is about 45 minutes of solid local music (Lil Daggers, Sam Friend, the Jameses, Guy Harvey, ANR, et cetera) punctuated by snippets of awkward conversation. Enjoy!”

True. Listen here if you’d like.
Big thanks to Beached Miami for putting us on a podcast! Non - rewindable radio is still better though.

________________________________

Speaking of radio you might want to rewind / record, after much protest, the DUCEMANIAIZM Hour returns this Tuesday to take over the hour I can’t cover because of time conflict with Urban Studies (school). Last night, Adrian (DZA) assured me that he has confirmed some big names to pack the studio with for the first show, so maybe it will get wild.
Right after MIAMI TIME, the Champion Sound Freedom for the Funk takeover continues with DJ Le Spam throwing down an entire 2 hours of Miami Funk (and I get to host!). If you’ve been listening to the past takeovers, you already know to listen.

p.s. - in case you guys didn’t know, the WVUM website, facebook, and Twitter are the best way to follow all of our on air events, interviews, DJ sets, giveaways and fun.

TONIGHT: Beached Miami takeover, now at a new time, 8pm.
Topics of discussion might be: top 15 Miami songs of 2010 (in the last week of January because MIAMI TIME duh), podcasts, Bozo Texino, the MLK Day Parade, Sketchy Miami, and more!

TONIGHT: Federico Nessi of PSYCHIC YOUTH, INC. 7pm
Very excited to have multimedia artist Federico Nessi of Psychic Youth, Inc. selecting songs on MIAMI TIME, to the theme of what he says is ‘bands I’ve lived near or wish I’d live(d) near.’
Federico and the Psychic Youth, Inc. collective have manifested many performances / installations (among much more) in recent years, some of the more well known being TRIBUTE, a tribute performance to legendary recording artist Joe Meek, and TRI, a created performance environment within the De la Cruz Collection space.
“Psychic Youth, Inc. was founded in 2008 by Ricardo Guerrero, Ana Mendez and Federico Nessi. They are an interdisciplinary performance collective with a heavy emphasis on musical collaboration.  Inspired by Throbbing Gristleʼs psychic rallies, PYI develops happenings that serve as ritualistic experiences where intuition and improvisation lead the usually task-driven acts. As a reaction to these times of global uncertainty and over-saturation of media, the collective focuses on obsessively analyzing human behavior and the power of the individual. A heavy dramatic intention and an appreciation for the occult are some of the components that form part of their ceremonies, during which they aim to engender empathy and attention in the viewer. “
